What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is based on the principle The Law of Similars.

This means like cures like. For example, a person who has a cold with profuse tearing from the eyes and nose may be given the homeopathic remedy Allium cepa, which is derived from the onion plant. These cold symptoms are similar to those experienced when one peels or cuts an onion. The word homeopathy is derived from the Greek, meaning similar suffering.

Homeopathy is a system of natural health care that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. It was developed by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann in the late 1700s. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as the second largest therapeutic system in use in the world. While it is most popular in India and South America, over thirty million people in Europe (and millions of others around the world) also benefit from its use.

How does classical homeopathy differ from other homeopathic methods?

Classical Homeopathy takes the perspective that we are in one state at a time so, therefore, we need one homeopathic remedy at a time. We may experience many symptoms, but the symptoms are all parts of one state. The homeopathic remedy addresses the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and emotions.

In February 2011, I was a guest on an online show, PregTASTIC, talking about Homeopathy During Pregnancy. This show addresses issues that pregnant women and new moms may have. Most of what I talked about on the show would be of interest to anyone who wants to know more about homeopathy. I have provide the link and the video below. The episode is 208, and runs about 37 minutes. There are a few commercials.  The address is:  http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/12484290
